Figuring out what to wear during lockdown has been weird. This is what works for me.

Obviously no one wants to be sitting at their home-desk in jeans, let's just get that out of the way. If you do this I'm not shaming you, but wow uncomfy. For me, keeping things on bottom more comfortable, and dressing up the top of my body seems to be the way to go while working from home. This is not to say that I didn't have the pajamas phase of quarantine, because oh boy, did I.

“Party on the bottom, business on the top. But for clothes.”

I have realized in the past few months that my productivity was way down on the days in which I put very little effort into my appearance. But as stated previously, I'm not a jeans at home type of girl, so I found a balance that works. Putting on a nice shirt or sweater, jewelry, and simple make-up or hair makes a huge difference in how I feel about myself within a day.

This outfit is as simple as a light green sweatshirt with puffed sleeves that make it a bit more smart, sweatpants, and slippers. I paired it with a Djerf Avenue black tank top for when I got too warm. On this particular day I wanted to give my skin a break, but wore my trusty Mejuri Gold Hoop earrings that I always have on and make me feel just that much more put together.

It may seems silly, but truly when I put even this little amount of effort in my days are more structured and I end up getting more done. The world is so bleak, sad, and terrifying lately, that having control of my appearance and how I present myself makes a massive difference on my mental state. Taking solace in the little things has become very important, and this is one of them for me.

Until next time. xxxx Emily
